Mushroom head (death mask)

The largest mushroom(s) I'd ever seen:

A warm evening at Scotswood Community Garden, I stumbled across a pair of giant mushrooms - approx. 30cm diameter - that had began to rot and discolor.

Their aroma was potent, but still mushroom like...

Left alone, exposed to bacteria and moisture, they would have shriveled and deformed on their own accord.

My desire to speed up the process was apparent:

The mushroom head(s) served as pre-residency research, where I would delve deeper into the territory of the teratology.
